Florence's History
Florence was platted in 1866 by Colonel Levi Ruggles. It went on to be developed as the agricultural center of the county. The 1870s saw significant progress as silver was discovered in the nearby Silver King Mine. This attracted many people who sought work in the mines to the area. Florence was incorporated in 1900.

Amenities include splash pad, restrooms, open turf, amphitheater and picnic tables. Padilla Park was proposed in 2013 and during construction the workers uncovered some historical artifacts.
